[It's good that Kate's drink was moved to the kitchen, and Rei's left forgotten at the couch side; the coffee table surface is clear. He sits up-- quicker than his usual, leisurely pace-- and abandons the couch altogether, kneeling to kiss her hard.
The coffee table isn't wide, but it's long to suit the length of the couch. Rei pulls her to sit at one end as if she weighed nothing. He settles himself between her legs, raising one carelessly over his shoulder and dropping a kiss at the inside of her thigh.]
Lay back. [He hasn't even removed her shorts yet but Rei teases at her through the fabric with one thumb, seeking the spot she'd abandoned, unable to help himself.]
( a pleased curl settles in her stomach, because this never changes, does it? people are easy. slaves to their hormones more than anything else, and she doesn't even need to try to ensnare this guy. he comes along willingly, and she rewards him by responding to the kiss hungrily, hands pressed either side of his face as she devours him. a thrill meets that satisfied pleasure, two different forces in unison for a time, aching for him in ways which are similar but so far apart.
